Which is to say, welcome to the morning after Ouma and Shuichi's game went a little further than it probably should have. Ouma had ended up killing even more time in the tacky love hotel by giving it another, more thorough investigative sweep -- not that he found anything particularly useful, but it's good to know the layout of the place and what exactly can all be found in there item-wise. Who knows what might end up being useful or relevant in this mutual killing game fiasco. Although he lowkey hopes some of the shit he found never ends up being relevant -- but knowing Miu, it's possible.

So Ouma's a little sleep deprived, between staying out that much later and...the general exhaustion...plus his inability to stop thinking about it. Even though he'll act like he slept like an absolute baby, 'cause he's a liar. He's even dragged himself to the cafeteria for breakfast, because that's how utterly unaffected he is. Plus, he is hungry.

Thankfully (but also annoyingly, because now he's gotta go see what they're up to right now), most of the ~*~student council~*~ of Angie's, aka the brainwashed idiots, aren't really around right now. That leaves...Korekiyo, Maki, Miu, and Kaito. What a wack group. Although one of the others might show up later...or altogether, since they're teaming up. No Shuichi either, which is interesting.

But not unsurprising, he supposes.

He doubts anything would've happened to him, but there's a paranoid part of him that kind of wonders.

He's almost considering just nabbing some snacks and taking them up to his room right now, because this is pretty uninteresting!! No fights breaking out or anything. Plus, the meal quality around here has really taken a nosedive since Kirumi's death. Oh, well...

The Monokubs will probably show up to say something inane, so he should stick around. ]

[Ouma scooting over and reaching over his head to fuss with the water has the side effect of bringing his bare thigh that much closer to Shuichi's face. And Shuichi is very much not looking, but he can tell even still just from the sound of Ouma's voice a bit more above him and that tingling sense of nearness, the body heat he can feel coming off Ouma's skin. The reminder of all the novelties back in the hotel really only makes the situation worse, too immediate a reminder of everything that's been going on while Ouma's sitting naked next to him and cracking jokes.

Lord. Shuichi laces his fingers together over the back of his neck, keeping his forehead to the side of the tub and his elbows down where he can cover the sides of his slightly frustrated expression with them. He's trying to be sincere here, and Ouma's just downplaying his worries and teasing him as usual.]

Of course I am.

[He sounds almost a little sad to have to say it. What has he done to make Ouma think he's some exception to that? He'd been fretting before about taking advantage of Ouma, right? Should he have been more firm about that, did giving in make him seem less sincere? Or is Ouma just messing with him right now, knowing he'll stress like this?

It might just be a joke, but brushing it off as easily as Ouma's brushing him off here sits poorly with him. Ouma likes to joke around, but how much is believeable? At what point is it actually fair to second-guess it and wonder if Ouma's just using humor as a shield? Shuichi knows he tends to overthink things, and he can admit that some of those things are probably silly to stress over. But of all things, it can't be wrong to think carefully about other people's feelings, right?

On the surface, it sounds like Ouma doesn't give a shit. He's so beyond intense feelings about stuff like this and of course is going to give Shuichi a hard time for caring.

But Shuichi got him to admit his own lie before. He acted so flippant about everything in the hotel yesterday, but he really was serious about it and hoped Shuichi was, too. That's a lot on its own -- like, a lot, he's going to be thinking on that fact alone for a while -- and it definitely calls into question any moment of apparently carelessness on Ouma's part. And why? Is he just lying out of habit? Is it meant to hide embarrassment or is he just afraid of being open about his real feelings?

Shuichi shakes his head slightly, the movement a little hard to parse as huddled up as he is right now.]

And...you always lie, or deflect like that, so of course I'm going to worry about whether you actually mean it when you say it's fine.

[ Ouma can tell easily enough that Shuichi is having another one of his doubting moments, even if it's...out of consideration, it seems. That's kind of weird, to Ouma, having someone actually bother about his comfort when Ouma seemingly never pays the same respect toward others. But not unwelcome. ]

Pfft! Do you really think I'd let someone like you take advantage of me? That's cute.

[ Ouma brushes off Shuichi's concerns with his own arrogance, taking his hand off the bath lever (now that the temperature is adequate enough) to playfully pat Shuichi's head a few times -- especially if he's just going to keep his face against the edge of the tub like that.

In any other context, it might look like Shuichi were pouting about taking a bath or something -- a thought that only serves to amuse Ouma further right now. Cheerily, he carries on: ]

But wow! I'm totally gonna end up swooning if you keep talking all chivalrous and stuff. Then it'll really be your fault I can't stop thinking about you, so be careful with that.

[He wasn't really expecting any kind of sincerity or anytjing in return, but he still sighs at Ouma's dismissal and the patronizing little headpat. There's a moment where he entertains the thought of just pushing Ouma into the tub, but of course it's quick to pass. Last thing he needs is to accidentally murder a naked Ouma in his bathroom by making him crack his head on the edge of the tub or something.

Trying to regain some level of dignity, he drops his hands to his lap and straightens up. If he pointedly keeps his eyes on the faucet rather than the boy sitting on the other side of him, well, he's gotta make sure to keep the water from getting too high, right?]

So it's not my fault right now?

[That at least makes sense. No matter how straightforward he gets Ouma to be on the subject, it's still hard to imagine why anyone would be so interested in him. That he humors Ouma so much and makes an effort to understand him is the most believeable explanation so far, but it being about something entirely unrelated to him would be just as believeable to him. Maybe Ouma's just the type to fixate on something and it just happened to be Shuichi here. Maybe he's just lonely and latching onto whoever seems most available.

Who knows. But musing over that aspect of it all is a little easier to process than Ouma indirectly admitting to thinking about him all the time.]

Hmmm...

[ Ouma brings a finger to his lips as he hums and looks upward, like he's actually mulling this over or something. In reality, he's just stalling on the fact that Shuichi's calling him out like this. Although he almost likes that, in a sense -- having Shuichi read into him and his statements but still leaving enough curiosity for Shuichi to pry further. It's too fun.

Ouma shrugs, kicking one of his feet in the risen water level lightly. ]

... I've changed my mind! Everything is Saihara-chan's fault!

[ Said as he pops open the cap on that bubble bath he'd grabbed earlier, dumping in a gratuitous amount. Because why not. ]

[That's...goddammit Ouma, he was just barely managing with the assurance that it wasn't really about him. Flushing a little, he's distracted enough for a moment that the sudden pouring of bubble bath into the water in fron of him takes him by surprise. Probably because he'd been determinedly hiding his face when Ouma first grabbed the stuff. He startles a little, gaze torn from the faucet to watch the thick liquid dispersing into the water.

Right. He pulls himself together some small amount and shoves one sleeve up to his elbow, reaching into the tub to stir the water where Ouma dumped the bubble bath in and trying to direct it all towards the faucet where the stream of water can mix it and foam it up properly. God, you heathen, have you never used bubble bath before?]

...Really?

[It's not his normal call out. He's not accusing Ouma of lying. It's just...hard to believe. Even with what bits of explanation he's gotten, he think he's really done all that much to deserve anyone's admiration or whatever.]

[ Yeah, he's totally a heathen, and he's only about to prove this fact. Ouma doesn't think he wants to seriously engage that line of conversation (sorry, Shuichi), so instead he'll just. Divert.

With ridiculousness. He grins mischievously. ]

Yep! Here comes your punishment...!

[ Cue Ouma tipping the bubble bath again just enough to pour some right on the back of Shuichi's head. It's really hard to resist when he's just leaning over the tub like that and has been keeping his face hidden and ducked the whole time.

A great diversion, if he says so himself. ]

[He should have better reaction time to this shit by now. But Shuichi only pauses at the mention of punishment, confused, and there's only just enough time for a moment of sudden dread before he feels the cool liquid suddenly poured over his head in a thick glob. He yelps, jolting upright, but that only makes the situation worse as a trail of the bubble bath drips down the back of his neck.

Wet hand darting to wipe at it before it can get onto his clothes, he gives Ouma an affronted look.]

O-Ouma-kun!!

[...Except he forgot for a moment that Ouma is still very much naked.

There's a beat in which he freezes, processing that while the bubble bath continues trickling down the nape of his neck into his collar. Then he goes furiously red, unsubtly looking away and covering his face with his dry hand.]

[ Ouma's grin only widens between Shuichi's outburst of a reaction and his face immediately following -- Shuichi can't really be embarrassed to be looking at him right now, can he? Of course he can, because that sounds exactly like a Shuichi thing to do. Ouma brings a finger to his lips to (unsubtly) obscure his all too amused smirk. ]

Hey, hey, what's wrong? Don't tell me you're feeling embarrassed now? Just like I said...

[ Ouma moves his hands at this point, dropping the bottle of bubble bath outside the tub as he moves his other hand to grip the edge of the tub, scooting himself even closer so that his bare thigh ends up against Shuichi.

His other hand that isn't gripping the tub's edge will end up making a casual reach over so that he can gently ghost his fingers along Shuichi's abdomen, where there's surely some dried cum at this point. ]

...It's your fault I'm like this, you know.

[Looking away, Shuichi really isn't prepared for the sudden closeness, Ouma's bare thigh up against his leg, and the fact that he can't really feel the difference through the fabric of his pants doesn't change the fact that he knows. He shivers slightly under Ouma's fingers on his stomach. He really doesn't need the reminder of their situation, or the sudden hyperawareness of the slightly itchy feeling of drying cum on his skin. He'd just been getting to a point of comfortably not fixating on it.

Jesus, is this flirting? Or is Ouma just teasing him? Or is this an extension of what they were doing before? The latter would be almost comforting, in a way -- maybe he'd better know what to do if this was definitely a sex thing, since that's now (bizarrely enough) somewhat familiar territory -- but it would also mean Ouma is ready to go again for the third time already, and if that's what this means then maybe Shuichi signed himself up for something more intense than he can actually handle.

Is he overthinking this? He doesn't think so, but it's probably not a good time to delay so long in responding, not when Ouma's feeling up his stomach like that and clearly looking for some kind of reaction.

But he really doesn't have words to respond to that.

So after a few beats he draws a steadying breath and continues as he was before with trying to wipe some of the bubble bath off his neck and head, and once he's got a good handful of it, he very maturely uses the same hand to abruptly and roughly ruffle Ouma's hair.]

[ Ouma's having a really good time with this, kind of feeling Shuichi up in a sense while Shuichi mulls over his response or reaction -- one that Ouma's anticipating a little too eagerly.

...But then he gets it, and it's definitely a little more than he had bargained for. He closes his eyes all of a sudden and makes a surprised sound, letting go of Shuichi as he instinctively tries to make a little distance between them with Shuichi's hand on his head all of a sudden.

Full of viscous bubble bath.

Fantastic. ]

Ugh, seriously?!

[ Ouma groans, like he hadn't just dumped the stuff on Shuichi's own head. But that's different, clearly.

Here comes the (very feigned, very dramatic) waterworks in response, and Ouma even rubs his eyes slighty. ]

You're so meaaaan!!

[Shuichi is long past the point of falling for Ouma's crocodile tears, and definitely not about to humor them when the whining is so hypocritical. He sighs heavily through his nose, focusing instead on that tickle of air over his fingers, and turns sway from the bath before pulling his hand away from his face again.]

Just get in the bath.

[At least it's just bubble bath. It can be rinsed off in the tub without soiling the bathwater entirely.

And on that note, Shuichi should...probably do the same. He's a bit tense, but turned away for a moment as if he was double checking that there are towels first, he finally bites the bullet and shrugs his top off.

But when his hand goes to the waistband of his pants he hesitates, pink visible even in his neck and shoulders. Jesus. He probably can't ask Ouma to just not look, huh? Not only is Ouma probably unlikely to do him that favor, even he knows it's kind of a ridiculous request after Ouma was just bouncing on his dick.]

[ So rude!! But Ouma's quick to stop his dramatics entirely, suddenly putting on an uncaring expression. ]

Fine. But you're washing this out for me!

[ He demands this before gripping the edge of the tub again, lowering himself into the bath easily enough. He sighs in an almost content way at the water's temperature against him, thinking it feels pretty damn good after...everything...

He glances over at Shuichi, raising a brow at the other still having his pants on right now. Jesus. ]

What's the hold up?

[ A beat, and then he's grinning again. ]

I've already seen it, y'know...

[He doesn't want to feel rushed, but it's probably not any better to drag it out like this. Shuichi tenses a little under Ouma's verbal prodding, torn between embarrassment and irritation and maybe mild gratefulness for the urging to just get on with it.]

I-I know.

[Ugh. How obvious can he be? He can practically feel Ouma's grin on his back, shoulders hunching a little like it's a tangible sensation.

Drawing a breath, Shuichi steels himself and hurriedly shucks off his pants and boxers before turning back and climbing immediately into the bath. Thank god for bubble bath, it's at least enough cover to make him feel a little less exposed. That would probably be too much for him on top of the things he hadn't even been thinking about, like Ouma's bare legs bumping up against his own in the too-small tub, or the spots of redness on Ouma's neck when he actually lets himself finally peek up at the other boy.]

Are you suuure? You don't sound like you know.

[ But oh good.

Ouma's quickly pleased as soon as he has Shuichi in the bath with him, and he'll scoot a little closer to Shuichi just because he can. And also because Shuichi owes him here, okay (or at least, that's what Ouma's decided). Ouma's not shy at all about moving his hands down in the water to grab Shuichi's thighs to steady himself against as he practically moves back into Shuichi's lap here. ]

Did I screw the detective stupid?

[ He inquires jokingly, taking one of his hands off Shuichi's thigh to rake his wet fingers through his own hair, prompted by the warmth of the bath to push a good bit out of his face in the process. ]

At least the hot water means he has a decent excuse for his flushing when he suddenly has Ouma all up in his business, a hand on his bare thigh. Shuichi glances up at Ouma, fighting off the urge to avert his eyes again. They're at least somewhat covered like this, the bubbles providing a layer of modesty, and he can try not to think about Ouma's hand on him and its proximity to his groin under the water. He only has to face the mischievious intensity of Ouma's gaze and the splotchy bits of redness he made himself.

He can do this. Glancing away only briefly, he sets his jaw, grasping for that sense of exasperation under all the embarrassment and uncertainty.]

Do you want me to wash your hair or not?

[Frowning a little, he busies himself by scooping water in his hands to pour over his head, trying to rinse out the bubble bath somewhat. The brief opportunities to close his eyes and duck his head are a welcome reprieve from trying to play it cool.]

[ Listen................... Don't focus on the fact that Ouma's hand prompty shakes slightly at the feeling of having something on it (at least he's getting some of it out of his hair??), and he returns it back to the water to get it off shortly after. But not without making a fleetingly grossed out face at the sudden reminder against his hand of the soap in his hair.

It's totally unfair that Shuichi's washing his own hair out first too, and Ouma frowns before inching closer to him, letting his legs bump against Shuichi's more like he isn't even bothered by it. ]

Yeah, duh. What else would I want you to do? Check me out while I bathe?

[ He says it sarcastically, but as if that would even be a likelihood given by how much Shuichi's glancing away and averting his eyes like they hadn't just fucked or something.

But that's why Ouma mentions it, of course. ]

[No, he will not be teased into submission here. Especially since Ouma doesn't even seem to be getting his point. He gives Ouma a dry look, forcing himself to hold it steady for at least a few seconds and willing the blush down as best he can.]

[ Ouma scoffs, like he's the one being wronged here or insulted or something. He's not like other girls, Shuichi!! But he suddenly perks up after a moment of this contrariness, leaning forward in the water slightly with a grin, which causes a bit of a slosh against the walls of the tub. ]

-- Okay, how about this? I wash yours for you in exchange! Poof, no more favors here!

[ He doesn't really even wait for an answer from Shuichi before placing a hand on Shuichi's shoulder and yet again getting closer to him, using his other hand to swat Shuichi's away like he's taking over here. ]

[That...worked better than expected, given he was prepared for some kind of argument about owing Ouma for making him so sore or whatever. He had counterarguments ready and everything, cool logic to combat the teasing and contrariness he was anticipating..

Not that he'll complain about not having to use any of that. This is definitely easier.

His shoulder slump a little, and some of the hardness eases out of his face, either wavering as Ouma gets right up in his personal bubble like that, basically sitting between his legs, or just taking what little cooperation he can get and giving in. He sighs, letting Ouma nudge his hand away from his hair.]

Ouma grins happily at the sudden complacency Shuichi gives him over this, moving his other hand from Shuichi's shoulder so that he can begin mussing his wet fingers through Shuichi's hair. It definitely starts a lather, but it'll be easier to wash off that way, Ouma figures. Plus, Shuichi's hair will be all nice and clean -- not that Ouma's gotten cum in it this time, at least.

He's kind of taking his sweet time with this, dragging his fingers along Shuichi's scalp gently and a bit gratuitously, almost giving him massaging motions alongside Shuichi's temples here and there. He's also a little too aware of how awkward Shuichi's been this entire time, and the way Shuichi's hands lightly hold at his sides serve as a consistent reminder, so of course he's not going to wash Shuichi's hair quietly here. ]

Shuichi's not sure what he expected, really. Not this thorough and soothing scalp massage. But maybe he should have. For someone who makes such a big show of being a selfish evil Supreme Leader, Ouma's proven to be surprisingly considerate, gentle when needed and too attentive for the "selfish" part to be entirely believeable. His fingers feel very nice, and between that attention and the hot water the tension does slowly leak out of him. His eye drift shut and he sighs softly, head dipping forward a little and hands settling a bit more firmly against Ouma's ribs.

Hell, even Ouma's normal teasing seems a little less aggravating and embarassing like this. Shuichi's mouth twists a little in mild exasperation, but he doesn't even look up to respond.]

[There's no real scolding in it anymore, the harsher edges all blunted and smoothed down. A good fucking followed by a hot bath and a massage can do that.]

[ A rare moment in which Shuichi isn't stressing about something? Maybe he needs this kind of thing more often. Ouma hums thoughtfully and with light amusement as he continues working his fingers in light circles, noticing how much more relaxed in general Shuichi seems -- Shuichi's hands holding his sides like that with a little more confidence is very welcome, and it really only makes Ouma want to keep this up.

He moves his hands more toward the back of Shuichi's head to work on him there a bit, giving extra attention to the small dip at the base of his skull near the nape of his neck -- it's because it's too easy to forget about the softer, shorter hair back there and not because Ouma is curious about whether or not Shuichi might like having that spot massaged a bit. Totally.

He's having fun with this for some reason, especially with the nice reaction of Shuichi relaxing to it so well -- it's probably akin to scritching a puppy's ears and watching them melt, and that image only serves to amuse Ouma further.

Still, at that comment, he bothers to put on a mock-pouting tone, even if it just ends up sounding really fake: ]

He's not quite so ready with a response for that one, frowning slightly for a moment while he fumbles for an answer that won't make him sound like either a creep or a headcase.]

[How can he explain the nonsense of his brain properly? It's not that he doesn't appreciate good sexy shit, just...he can't separate that from the person when he knows that person, and it feels weird to ogle a friend. Like he's objectifying them or something. He's seen too many infidelity cases and disappointing background checks, messy situations tied up in romance and sex and shit, and he doesn't want to be one of those kinds of guys, the sort that seem to forget that the people they're involved with are people who can be hurt.

...Yeah, there's probably some element of overthinking it in all that. He knows it's probably an overreaction. It's better not to open that can of worms. Ouma's looking for a fun time, maybe some kind of companionship. He's not looking to become Shuichi's therapist.]

[ .......Okay, but Ouma practically preens at that response regardless, his expression lighting up a bit as he bites down on his own lip to keep from smiling any bigger. Why is a stupid comment like that serving to make him giddy? But Shuichi said he likes him...

Christ. Okay, Ouma moves his hands at this point to scoop some water in them to toss on Shuichi's head to start rinsing these suds out. And he'll do this a few times -- not really giving Shuichi a break in-between, because he wouldn't dare open his eyes while having water dumped on his head, and that's ideal right now so Shuichi can't see Ouma's face having slightly more color to it right now.

It's the hot bath's fault, anyway. ]

Well. Mostly unserious. It's a good look, but he's not picky about Shuichi's appearance per se here. He's just kind of gay in general for him. ]

There's a part of him that would love to say he likes Ouma better when he's too fuckdrunk to keep a tightly controlled expression. Or, y'know, something to that effect but somehow less vulgar. But even wording it more politely is a bit beyond him at this point. Hell, just thinking it makes him feel a little ashamed, even despite meaning it so...well, "innocently" doesn't feel like the right word, but it's something like that. He just likes the rare opportunity to see Ouma so open and honest. That doesn't feel wrong by itself, but the opportunity in question is just so wrapped up in something so sexual.

It'd be nice if he could get that same chance without having to go so far.

(Not that going so far is bad, just...y'know.)

When Ouma finally eases up on the rinsing, he brings a hand back to his face to shove his wet bangs out of his eyes, shooting Ouma a weary look.]
