Which is to say, welcome to the morning after Ouma and Shuichi's game went a little further than it probably should have. Now he's freshly de-virgin'd, teetering on the edge between easy contentedness and self-conscious uncertainty over how this whole thing went down, distantly but acutely aware that being left alone would nudge him neatly over the edge into the latter and very sure he'd be completely miserable again, post-coital bliss be damned.

Frowning, his grip around Ouma's waist tightens just slightly, as if unconsciously worried he'll decide to take off anyway.]

[ Ouma grins between Shuichi's words and the fact that he is definitely aware of Shuichi's arm tightening around him slightly. He's pretty pleased about that, and even though Shuichi's being super clear he doesn't want Ouma to go anywhere, Ouma can't help but take the opportunity to mess with him about it. ]

Then are you gonna invite me to stay?

[ Ouma asks as he's already making himself comfortable, settling his chin against Shuichi's chest.

Maybe he just wants to hear it.

Or he's just being difficult. Or both. ]

[It's obvious -- he knows it's obvious, it should be obvious, Ouma is perceptive as hell and it should be easy to put two and two together there. Ouma's acting like it's obvious, anyway, and it does soothe that constant festering pit of doubt in him thay Ouma's getting all cozy like he intends to stick around no matter what, but...

Shuichi frowns slightly, hesitant for just a few seconds before he nods, unfortunately not nearly as firmly as the grip he's meeping around Ouma's waist.]

...I want you to stay.

[It's...not really what he was asked. It's not strictly an invitation. But just offering the invitation could be misconstrued -- he certainly would overthink it, if the situation was reversed, and he thinks maybe Ouma isn't that different from him in some ways, maybe also a little prone to considering the worst possibilities. It's got a different root, probably paranoia rather than something like his own crippling low-self-esteem, but Shuichi can imagine how simply inviting him to stay could be interpreted. Obligation, or politeness, or just going along with Ouma's shit because fighting him on anything could get exhausting real quick.

He'd even said he wasn't happy with how things ended last night earlier, but that's not completely clear either, is it? That, too, could mean all kinds of different things, plenty of possibilities that were a little embarassing to consider when he thought too hard about how his own words might have sounded.

He just wants to be honest, even if doing so leaves him flushing pink and uneasily biting his lip. At least he can make this tangled mess of uncertainties and indirectness a little bit less messy by just being as straightforward as he can about this one thing.

It's not an invitation to be taken or ignored, offered up in response to being prompted for it. It's just what he wants.]
